Hanshin Electric Railway

Hanshin Electric Railway Co. Ltd. (阪神電気鉄道株式会社) is a private railway company headquartered in Osaka. It operates two main railway lines within the Osaka Prefecture – Main Line(本線) and Hashin Namba Line(阪神なんば線). Of note is that it also owns the famous professional baseball team, Hanshin Tigers. Japan Rail Pass cannot be used here.

Both Hanshin Main Line and Hanshin Namba Line work as connecting lines to Nara. One can transfer to Kintetsu Nara Line from Koshien Station (HS14), Kobe-Sannomiya Station (HS32) or Shinkaichi Station (HS36) on the Hanshin Main Line. One can also transfer to Kintetsu Nara Line from Osaka Namba Station (HS41) on Hanshin Namba Line.

Hanshin Main Line (阪神電気鉄道本線)– This route connects Umeda Station in Osaka and Kobe-Sannomiya Station in Kobe.

Goes to Shinkaichi Station (HS36) in peak hours, goes to Kosoku Kobe Station (HS35) in off-peak hours, ReE(区間急行)– Operates between Osaka-Umeda Station (HS01) and Koshien Station (HS14) during weekday morning peak hours, E (急行)– Operates between Osaka-Umeda Station (HS01) and Amagasaki Station (HS09) or Nishinomiya Station (HS17), RaE (快速急行)– It starts at Hanshin Namba Line and merges with Hanshin Main Line at Amagasaki Station (HS09) and terminates at Shinkaichi Station (HS36), RLE (区間特急)– Operates from Mikage Station (HS25) to Osaka-Umeda Station (HS01) on weekday morning rush hours, Hanshin LE (阪神特急)– Operates between Osaka-Umeda Station (HS36) and Sumaura-koen Station on Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line via Nishidai Station (HS39), DLE (直通特急)– Operates between Osaka-Umeda Station (HS01) and Sanyo-Himeji Station on Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line via Nishidai Station (HS39)
