Blue Seal Ice Cream was created by the US Military in 1948 for soldiers stationed in Okinawa. The ice cream only became available outside US bases in 1963. While the ice cream has been available at supermarkets in Osaka for a while, they’ve only opened stores here recently. This is the Ame-mura store. Other locations are Benten, Tsuruhashi and Abeno.
